The Credit Union Story
The modern Credit Union movement traces its origins to Germany and to the leadership of Hermann Schulze-Delitzsch in 1852 and are small non-profit financial organisations set up by members with something in common to benefit their community. Moray Firth Credit Union is a financial co-operative which offers safe savings accounts and low-cost loans to members.
Our own Moray Firth Credit Union started in 1994 in a wee room in Forres community centre by a small passionate group – some of who are still involved in varying aspects today. Moray Firth Credit Union aims to help members take control of their money by encouraging saving what you can, and borrowing only what you can afford to repay.
